Dance like no one is watching. Anything but a card challenge.

Today a new challenge blog started called Anything but a card. The challenge this fortnight is Anything Goes, so I got started on this article journal entry.
I love dancing, always have, so decided this page just had to be done. Dylusions inks, cut grass, turquoise and London blue, spritzed. I then used a dancing stencil from an old Club Scrap kit 2004!! a hole stencil, bubble wrap and worked away at it until I was happy. I used a gelly  roll pen  to outline the steps shown on stencils and stamped the 'Dance like no one is watching' stamp (that is part of a Declassified stamp set 'Aliases').

I then printed of some silhouettes from the website and arranged on the Page. I still feel it's missing something, but don't know what. I may add to it in the future if I find out what I think it needs lol.

Thanks for looking.

  1. Completely gorgeous page spread... It's a quotation I absolutely love - all the bits of it, but the dancing might be my favourite part! I love your silhouettes, and the background is also full of life and movement - delicious! I'm just embarking on art journalling so this is tremendous inspiration... thanks so much for dropping in at Words and Pictures today.

  3. I love that phrase too, I love dylusions too so you have a head start before I got any further reading about your piece and looking at your images! For me, one of the cleverest things here is the detail in your background. I love the dancers but what really caught my eye were those footprints showing how the dance steps are worked - totally inspired idea for this piece. I also love how many layers you've already built up in the background to go with the 'feet'.
A very clever and creative piece with beautiful colour palette.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us for the first challenge at ABAC.

  11. Hi Cath
This is witty and fun & I LOVE the colours !
Great to see your pages (I have the same trouble you mentioned a couple of posts before with alcohol pens seeping through the pages - isn't it annoying ! I've ended up having to glue to pages together - which is okay going forward in the journal but you have to be SO careful they don't ruin the page you did on the side before ! Ali x
